AFRO POP: Hip Hop Revolution
BackIn "Hip-Hop Revolution" South African filmmaker Weaam Williams takes a nostalgic and energetic look at the hip hop culture and its influences on South African youth on the edge of a new post-apartheid South Africa. This film, a favorite at this year's AFI Silverdocs Festival, has been praised because it gives "voice to South Africa's hip-hop subculture, and reminds Western viewers of the complexity of black experience, at home and worldwide."
